The Johnston Gurudwara Sahib (Sikh temple) serves the Sikh communities in and around Des Moines metro area. Established in 2009 with generous local support, as well as significant support from Australia, India, Canada and many other states of the US, it is home to the weekly kirtan (services) on Sunday at 11:30 and the langar (community meal) at approximately 1pm.
The Gurudwara sahib it is located in a serene, residential neighborhood near the Des Moines river. The temple provides a spiritual home to several dozen Iowa families (sangat). Supported by sangat from near and far, the Gurudwara welcomes any and all, irrespective of religion, race or age.
